“Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.”
On the 25th April 2010, the Bike4Buckers project will begin with the London marathon. For most this would be an achievement in itself, not for Christian Schneider though, a third year student at Bournemouth University studying business. Three weeks after, he will be tackling the 3 Peaks challenge in 24 hours followed by a warm down the day after with the Great Manchester 10k run. In June, Europe's highest mountain (Mount Elbrus) will be the third challenge climbing 5642m and just two weeks after it will be on the bike to start the coast to coast bike ride of North America - New York to San Francisco over 3000 miles of fun in 50 days (no time to hang around since his final year of University starts in September!)
There are many, many good causes out there and equally as many people doing things in their own time to raise money for charity but just because Bike4Buckers is a set of challenges way beyond the normal limit of charity work doesn't mean that donations are expected to be relative to this. A two pound donation is equally well received to a five hundred pound donation because all the money goes towards sick children suffering from cancer to fund their chance of survival, that's surely a good cause right?...

With the new fangled technology made available on the iPhone, the plan is to incorporate a tracking device within an application which will send data back to this page http://runkeeper.com/user/bike4buckers/profile
If it doesn't move for a few days, don't be alarmed it's probably just having technical issues. If it still hasn't updated after a week and the blog hasn't been written, maybe give the police a call...
Why would he do this you ask? Well for one very good reason only, "Buckers", read this page for more information or www.justgiving.com/thebuckers but one of the greatest guys you could ever have the pleasure to have met. Gone but not forgotten, he leaves a lasting legacy inspiring others to do more.
Raising money for the Christie, Europes leading Cancer research hospital and carers of Tom Buckley while he was ill on numerous occasions. All money donated goes straight to the Christie, all costs of the project are self funded either by hard graft or kind corporate sponsors. The Christie hospital whole heartedly deserve every penny you are kind enough to give while watching Christian slowly (but surely) reduce his life expectancy age! Supported by the Bike4Buckers dream team, this is a challenge with no limits so sit back and enjoy the show!
This project is funded in two ways, from working and people taking pity on me. Fortunately with some corporate sponsors on board it means that the project can go ahead. So why not show your appreciation, if you need some gold bars or some top of the range furniture at home then check out this page.
